To post a name, click on 'link' icon

Paste in your link.. it'll look like this (without the asterisk)

Make the following changes:

[*url ] http://brokenbat.org/player/106394 [/url]
.......^ .................................................... ^
Get rid of this......................... add a ]
and make it an = .................... and put the

so it becomes

without the asterisk

Moffet

11 years with the club, nearly 1400 games.

.282/.328/.489 with a .817 OPS. Not bad at all. 3 time all star, 1 time all league.

Probably the best player I've had in the short time I've been playing this game.

I'm far too lazy to do a top 5, so I'll leave you with him.

Mays

- 8x All Star

- 4x All League

- 3x Cy Young

- Nearly 200 career Wins

- Sub 3.00 career ERA

- 2,100+ career K's

The rest of my top 5 would just be embarrassing compared to him, so I won't even bother.

Nice topic.

Will put a little thought into it. First few are clear, but gets murky by 5.

I think it's safe to say that Phoenixes write the greatest chapter in franchise history right now. Before 2026 the team spent only 5 seasons outside of LL VI, now we are actually putting up a fight to promote to Legends. Because of that, I will only name one player that played before I took over the team (2023 or earlier), and that is:

#5 C Jerome Terrell
He didn't hit many doubles, but he didn't need to. This guy turned singles into doubles with ease. It's been 15 years since he retired, and still nobody can come even close to basestealing numbers he put up. Last seasons we were stealing less bases as a team than he did on his own.

The rest of guys are from my era, I came up with the following order:

#4 CLR Chad "Fear the Beard" Anderson
Many managers here diminish the importance of a good closer, but I'm not one of them. To me this position is one of the most important on the team. And for 8 seasons it was in hands of Chad. He was closing games in LL VI as well as in LL II. His lifetime SV% is 82.18%. He gathered 332 saves for the franchise, which makes him the best closer in our history, but looking at the way Cazares started his assignment on the job, this record might not hold.
Now he found a retirement home in East Arkham, where... he is a starter.

#3 SP Stu Merrill
Until last season he was the only Phoenixes pitcher that grabbed 2 Cy Young awards in two consecutive seasons. Main architect of our 2026-2031 promotion run, during those years he was THE ace of the team. Recently had to give up that title for our #1 below. Owns franchise record of 28 wins in single season (2026). Now in the twilight of his career he still puts up reliable numbers in LL II. He needs just 11 more wins to grab 1st place on franchise all-time win list.

#2 DH Jesus Menendez
With this guy at the plate, you never know. He will either swing a full second too late or too early, or he will connect and send the ball flying out of the stadium. Currently franchise all-time leader in doubles, homeruns and RBIs, also owns a single season RBI record of 170 (from our legendary 2026 season of course). Too bad all-time numbers for strikeouts are not tracked for batters, as I'm sure he would be leading that one as well. He is one of only two batters that won the MVP award in my era, the other being Juan Casillas. The day he retires will be one of saddest days in Warsaw, I don't see a replacement for such great production in our current roster or in our minors.

And finally...
#1 SP Keith Van Slyke
Yes, the best player in franchise history is 26 years old. But we are CERTAIN we have a gem. After only 4 full seasons of pitching, two of which he was still developing, he is already showing on all-time leaderboards, while pitching only in higher leagues, mostly LL II. Already won Cy Young twice, in 2032 and 2033. Some of the records to his name include:

Franchise single season innings pitched record:
# Player Year IP
1 K. Van Slyke 2033 310⅓
2 K. Van Slyke 2032 291⅓
3 S. Merrill 2027 258

Franchise single season strikeouts record:
# Player Year K
1 K. Van Slyke 2033 250
2 K. Van Slyke 2032 234
3 E. Alsonso 2017 216

He didn't break those records, he completely destroyed them, shred them to pieces, set a whole new universe that only few pitchers in the game have access to. This is a talent that can happen once a century, and we have to rely on him to take the team on his back and carry it to Legends. He deserves to be there.
