Hey all

I picked this guy up off the scrap heap, because why not take a look during a lost season. As you can see, he's a 28 y/o POT 14 SP who was laughably underdeveloped at the beginning of 2033. However, at 28 y/o he has managed to gain 20 SI pets this season, and I'm pitching him about 150 pitches a start as often as I can (every 3-4 starts) through the end of the year, so it's very possibl he'll gain another 5-9 SI.

My question is, next season he'll be 29. I imagine I can't rely on any more serious SI growth next season, right? Would you expect that whatever I squeeze out of him during the rest of this, his age 28 season, will be the end of his gains?

And whatever he ends 2033 with will be pretty much the end of his development?

Thanks

Jeff

I've had guys still popping in their 30s. He will continue to grow, but he will also start declining at the same time pretty soon.

If this guy is anything to go by, I wouldn’t give up hope on him yet.

Growth slows seriously down after 200 Major League innings. It may continue, but it won't be more than a couple points per season, and he will start declining in the off-season soon as well. Given that you are giving him the innings, I would say he'll be worth keeping through at least the age 31 season, if you really don't have better options.

My Closer last season was a player like that.

He did good for my team last season.

Yeah, they can be very useful.
