He'll likely be a lousy hitter, but his 20 arm could make him a decent defensive catcher. He could also man right field for defensive purposes late in the game, except, of course, for the fact that the AI can't figure out to do such a thing. Having a 68 SI while only being 18 is also intriguing. My guess is he'll be cut at spring training, but he might not be if I let go of two or more 30+ year old players. EDIT: I am not patient enough...I got it...and grabbed a throwaway 11 POT pitcher...nobody more than "poor hitter" or "lacks control" and all were "above average" or nothing...was hoping for a 9th round surprise! I passed on my pick last round, for the first time since I joined, and doubt I'll be making another pick this season. My roster is full and I'm contending so I don't have much reason to change anything at the majors level, and the guy I'd be most likely to cut from my minors is likely to be (much?) better than anyone I could land at this stage. Think I'll be sticking with what I have until next season now. |
