The only one I kept was the perennially disappointing Waters, who has at least mashed LHP (small sample). It did mean I've been looking for a C to play against RHP for some time, and may have finally found an answer in 35-yo vet Lerma. Tan was my wish realised, anything else this season is a bonus. |

MukilteoMike Joined: 08/09/2014 Posts: 3294 Inactive | Wow. Here are the SIs of the top 13 players for two rosters: A. 129-126-122-121-119-118-117-115-114-114-113-113-112. B. 123-121-120-118-118-117-117-117-116-116-116-116-116. Those are impressive. A is one BB team. B is derived from my entire division (IV.2 East). The one team has 2 more SI for their top 13 players than my entire division does. I'm not exactly sure how to turn that into a wish, but I know there's one there. |

Lets be honest, though, if an owner had the choice to build a team out of very nice build 103 SI guys or not quite perfect 115 SI guys, almost everyone is going to choose the latter. Oh, and I have looked at Seattle many times. I really have no idea how they're pulling it off. I would never guess they were the top team in the land and am envious of their wicked sorcery. |

Haselrig Joined: 04/13/2014 Posts: 2790 Novi Doubledays III.4 | My guess is that nobodyjones is better at interpreting minor league stats than I am. He seems to be able to find guys who have "it" more often than most owners, myself included, can. On my roster, Olsen has it. Austin doesn't. Learning what makes that so has been the hardest thing in this game for me. I tend to throw a bunch of guys I think are talented out there and see which ones work. With limited roster spots, that's not an efficient way of playing. It could just be that nobodyjones got lucky for a stretch and landed a bunch of 12 and 13 POTs who just happened to have "it". It seems to me that the simpler explanation is that he has figured out the intangible part of player evaluation that I've yet to master. I take that to mean I need to work harder if I want to aspire to his level of success. |
