| Don’t worry, he won’t play any worse than he currently does, and he’s not in his post-30-year-old decline five years ahead of schedule. The new number is what was actually being used for how he’s been playing. It’s not so much a decrease as a correction — there’s a certain margin for error on skills that training updates will correct every so often. (Besides, developing pitchers losing defensive stats is generally considered to be a good thing: It means they have an extra point they can dedicate to a pitching skill.)
