That said, I'd be curious to get some veteran managers' opinions on saying "screw the left-hand penalty" and train him for SS anyway. Fielding will be a minimum of 15, max of 17. Assuming a 16/17/19 F/R/A, could a player like this still provide solid value at SS even with the left-hand penalty? |

occham Joined: 11/07/2011 Posts: 258 Inactive | Wow.. that's an incredible 8th rounder. Although you can force it into SS, I'm kind of the mind why bother? He's going to be a brute anyway and unless you have FOUR such brutes that you absolutely need to get in the lineup somehow, it would seem that you could get a right handed SS eventually by draft or transfer. You could always train him at SS while he's in the minors - may as well. But I can't see him being anything other than an OF - and a great one at that. He should be a very good CF for you and I wouldn't try to put a square peg in a round hole. He is what he is. | ||
