I another thread we started the conversation on what sort of team would make best use of a dome. One of the easiest things to determine is if you want a HR friendly park or not. You can shift the right field or left field walls depending on the throwing arms of your HR weak pitchers and HR hitters. But how do you do this? Obviously you can push back the walls and make them higher. I have weaker OFs (low range), so last year I thought I would try pulling the walls in and making the walls very high. This resulted in a lot more HRs. So not a great idea if you want to reduce HRs. Might be good if you have a lot of powerful guys with good FB/GB ratios, and pitchers who keep the ball on the ground. Thoughts and strategies on the use of dome, turf, dimensions, etc. |
