OPS .722 and ERA of 5.22 (FIP 4.04 though). Let's hope that minor league numbers aren't so meaningful, or we will have a problem in the near future |

Gabe Jordan 18yo lit up rookie/A-ball with 134 runs, 27 2B, 7 3B, 16 HR, 113 RBIs and 106-19 SBs in 149 games. Honorable mention: Red "It's pronounced Dumas" Foreman Great scouting report and very solid numbers in AA (24-85-.270), but no shot at the majors on this team with Scooter and Shadow Knight ahead of him at 2B/LF Minor-League PotY: You'd think it would be tapped out with Chief and Cannonball running for rookie pitcher of the year, but the scouts tell me to ignore Conway's crappy stats since he hit AAA and Under-dog Pitcher of the year X-Man will need a spot in the rotation soon. He combined to hit 17 homers and steal 39 bases. Cambridge Pitcher of the Year Nate Stein Stein was the lone bright spot in an abnormally bad year for Colonel pitching prospects. The third-ranked pitching prospect finished his AAA campaign with a 13-8 record and 3.46 ERA. Cambridge is flush with top major league hurlers, making Stein's climb to the top level difficult. |

Yuri84 Joined: 10/14/2014 Posts: 639 Apple Valley Raccoons IV.4 | This season, the best minor leaguers in Apple Valley system were the only guys currently playing at AAA level. Position player of the year: Herb Strickland - .298 AVG, 80 RBI, 18 HR in 119 games. If everything goes according to plan, he'll be playing for the main team sometime next season, most likely as an outfielder. Pitcher of the year: Martin Ochoa - 7-6, 2.50 ERA and 86 K in 48 games at AA level, a bit worse after being promoted to AAA, but he's still perhaps the most steady pitching prospect and at 19, has all the time to develop. Not sure if he's got what it takes to be a starter, but he can definitely be a reliable setup man or even a closer. |

Peekay Joined: 03/26/2014 Posts: 146 Inactive | Had some solid performances in my minors this year, particularly among my hitters. Palatine minor league hitter of the year: Bo Fan - 23 year old 92SI 14 potential 3B/2B - 116 games at AAA - .330/.372/.520 .892OPS, 14HR, 67RBI. Super excited for this guy, I haven't had a solid 3B on my team in a long time and if he were called up now he'd instantly be getting AB's against left handers, never the less I will keep him down and let him develop until he's ready. Palatine minor league pitcher of the year: Joaquin Miranda - 23 year old, 82 SI, 14 potential RHP - 34G (20GS) at AAA - 4.49 ERA, 4.66FIP, 1.458WHIP, 6-9 W/L, 9 QS. I've gutted my minors over the past couple of seasons for pitchers with 6 making the jump permanently. Miranda started the year with a long term injury from Spring Training but battled through and performed admirably well in his first taste of AAA. I'm hoping he has another full year of development at AAA before coming up in his age 25 season. |

95th Cub Joined: 03/06/2015 Posts: 100 Racine Bombers VI.18 | Schaumburg Minor Leaguer of the Year: George Barker, 1B, AA/AAA, BL/TL: Beware of Dog. The Bombers' top prospect has basically spent the season living up to the hype. Starting the year in AA, Barker hit .265 with 10 HR, an .825 OPS and 39 steals. He's arguably been even better in AAA, hitting .300 with 7 jacks, an .853 OPS and 45 swipes. Honorable Mention: Alexei Smirnov, OF, Rookie/A, BR/TR: Though admittedly rather old for a prospect (23), the Russian has turned some heads and made some good progress since being signed. After dominating the Rookie league (.336 with 4 HR in 33 games), Smirnov was bumped up to A ball, where he's cooled off but has still played some good ball. The "Grey Goose" has hit .283 with 24 doubles, 10 HR and a .789 OPS in Single A play. Schaumburg Minor League Pitcher of the Year: Pat Rodgers, A, LH: while he projects as a reliever, Rodgers has been a solid starter. 12-5 record, 12 QS out of 19, 1.287 WHIP, 2.44 ERA and only 2 HR allowed...considering other pitchers have struggled somewhat, he's it. Damian360 Joined: 05/10/2014 Posts: 12 Inactive | The Twin Falls Pioneers today named infielder José Bustamante as their minor league position PotY. The 19yo Panamanian hit .302 with 8hr, 66rbi, and 55sb's in 401ab's at the Pioneers AA affiliate this past season. On the pitching side of things. 23yo Joaquin Alomar gets the honors. Despite scuffling a bit to start the season numbers wise in AA ball it was decided to move Joaquin up to AAA ball because of his good stuff and he proved management right by putting up good numbers outta the pen.6-5 with a 3.73era in 91ip Updated Wednesday, August 12 2015 @ 4:27:08 pm PDT |
