Haselrig Joined: 04/13/2014 Posts: 2790 Novi Doubledays III.4	Nothing wrong with Medina if you use him right Mcdoogle. I'd train him to 1B and use him as a DH/Platoon 1B. Looks like a good offensive weapon if he develops.

Seca Joined: 05/05/2014 Posts: 5201 Waterloo Dinosaurs Legends	Looks like a good offensive weapon if he develops He projects out like: 16 hit, 18 BC, 16 PD, 15 pow, 8 sp, 13 field, 10 range, 9 arm That's a wonderful offensive player. He just can't play a premium defensive position.

For a position player: - you have a potential bar that roughly indicates his final skill points - you have 3 skills that are physical and don't improve (speed, arm, range) - you have 3 skills that are scouted and can be roughly predicted (hitting, power, fielding - you have 2 unscouted skills So for Medina: 13 potential --> 104-111 SI (I went conservative and used 105) speed + range + arm = 27 "very good" hitting --> 15-17 (went 16) "decent" slugging --> 14-16 (went 15) "solid" fielding --> 13-14 (went 13) leaves 34 points to split between BC and PD (I slightly favoured BC due to higher starting value) As much art as science. It is pretty fun to make a prediction when you first add a player, and look back at that prediction seasons later to see how good your scouting was.
