So a guy like Pierce with 15 blocks of potential is expected to reach 120-127 SI. Pierce tho, probably isn't going to fully reach his potential. He seems fairly experienced - has already pitched over 600 innings. His last 200 IP have only resulted in a gain of 1 SI. He may continue to add a point here or there, but he's mostly a finished product IMO. And a very good one, even if he doesn't completely fill the potential bar. |

Jayman Joined: 01/22/2015 Posts: 89 Inactive | Is it because his actual potential is unkown? If that is the case at his age maybe he is a 14 pot or maybe he is a 16 pot meaning the actual range of his SI would 112 to 128? Given his SI is 114 we know he is at least a 15 making the range 120 to 128 if he reaches full potential? Updated Monday, April 20 2015 @ 12:37:01 pm PDT |

softshoe Joined: 01/24/2015 Posts: 72 Inactive | Jayman I think 120 is the lowest range for 15, and 127 would be highest range of a 15 pot, and 128 would be a 16 pot low range | ||

I haven't been playing enough to know how the slowdown/experience thing goes. Seca keeps track of the numbers so I'd go with his assessment. Updated Monday, April 20 2015 @ 2:18:04 pm PDT |

I'd submit any of my pitchers to prove that. Hutchinson (on my staff) continued growing for 5 seasons due to his only periodic use for an inning here and there as he was developing. For a guy who gets heavy usage from his rookie season through his third year what you see is what you have. |
