I wouldn't be to quick to ditch him just because of the POT 11. The guy you released was a 33 yo with below-average ability. Paz isn't going to contribute this year, but he definitely has more upside than a 33 yo. Updated Saturday, April 4 2015 @ 7:49:23 am PDT |

The longer they are in your system, the better the product should be. Paz is 18 in Rookie ball. Looking at ~5-6 seasons before he pitches in the majors. That's a big investment for a pitcher with limited potential - even if he is a good limited potential pitcher. |

Still, a lot of people want to throw a guy out when they see 11 POT, but Paz is a good example of a guy whose actual potential is pretty good. Hard to say he is worse than a 33 yo who can't really hold his own at the major level.

slugfest2015 Joined: 12/21/2014 Posts: 168 Inactive | Yuri is right, I was talking about a guy I could have drafted. Also, I am most certainly not releasing Paz, just mourning the other guy. Probably silly worrying anyway since I'll never see or at least recognize the other guy anyway.

Then I had to make sure I didn't get any of the big four waiver claims tonight. Struck out there, which was no surprise, but this was. A leftie hitting infielder. Sweet. |
