Broken Bat Baseball
Although we lost in 6 games, we manage to keep the same 116-44 record as we had in div 6 the prior season. Winning the final 10 games of the season. But clearly the hot streak didn't help in the playoffs.

So let's have a look at what the 2019 season brought to the beloved Jays:
Starting pitching was once again the strength of this team with all 5 starters having successful seasons.
Ramon Arroyo: 20-3 (34 starts), 240IP, 2.17ERA
Shigeru Kamida: 21-7 (34 starts), 228IP, 2.09ERA
Russell Friedman: 22-8 (35 starts), 233IP, 2.36ERA
Curtis Krause: 15-10 (33 starts), 192IP, 3.56ERA
Hector Aleman: 10-2 (20 starts), 104IP, 2.07ERA
STB's top 3 starters were simply dominant with a nice season from Krause and surprisingly nice showing from the youngster Aleman after he was given a chance to roll as the 5th starter.
The bullpen once again had a solid season with Mario Foster bookending the group to another successful campaign, joined by veteran free agent acquisitions.
Mario Foster: 68G, 50/57 saves, 2-2 and 6holds, 1.95ERA, 97IP
Julio Lara: 68G, 5/6 saves, 11-1 and 8 holds, 2.76ERA, 120IP
Sean Wynn: 65G, 9/12 saves, 6-7 and 6 holds, 2.53ERA, 81IP
Jesus Marrero: 27G, 2/4 saves, 2-2 and 3 holds, 2.72ERA, 30IP
Albert Reynolds: 30G, 7-2, 90IP, 2.19ERA
The bullpen, though only 5 deep, proved all season long that they could easily keep up on the few off days the starting rotation had. Proved once again to be able to close out close games and keep leads. With none of the 5 with a ERA over 3.

Now to check on offense, which was once again led by the bat and legs of Kendrick Walker. The progression of 1B/OF Jesper Nilsson and 1B Jeroen Detmers and power bats of DH Leroy Smith, SS Ricardo Cisneros, C/2B Paul Shelton and OF Ivan Caballero. Add in another successful year from Fernando Ayala and success from utility players Red Bryant and Oswaldo Castro. With Rodney Bonner as the team captain having to give place to younger players still managed to have a decent year.

Let's award team awards for best pitcher, hitter, rookie and team MVP.
Pitcher: close call with 3 great seasons from starters and another from the closer. The award goes to Ramon Arroyo
Hitter: another close call between Walker, Cisneros and Caballero. The award goes to Cisneros with 72 extra base hits and 118RBI.
Rookie: due to lack of competition Jeroen Detmers wins the award in 88 games. 22 extra base hits and a 290 avg he seems to have made his place amongst this team
MVP: with so many amazing seasons the decision was difficult but in the end one player played above in beyond in every aspect, Kendrick Walker wins the award. He's set the tone all year for the offense at the top of the lineup with his stolen base, OBP and as well as a great defender in RF.
