Do you train minor league guys in positions other than his primary listed position no matter what? For example, let's say you have a guy listed as a shortstop and you expect to play him there when he reaches the majors a few years down the road. Should you play him at short in the minors? Will that make him better at short? Or should you train him at something like third or in the outfield just in case you might end up needing him there?

Personally, once a player is all caps at his primary position, or the position I envision him playing in the majors, I switch his training to the next position he seems most likely to be adept at. I have a very short bench in the majors, so some utility guys are a must.
