Anyway, i would like to know whether there are: - a correlation between pitch types and batting outcomes generated from LHH and RHH (e.g.: changeup effective against opposite handed and slider against same handed); - a correlation between repertoire and likelihood for a pitcher to be a starter or a reliever |

Currently, the game engine doesn't having hanging curve balls that are hit for home runs or guys that are great fastball hitters, but can't hit the curve. That's not to say that we wouldn't eventually implement this kind of depth...but its just not in the code right now. Steve |

In othe r words, does the game engine determine pitch type for each pitch and then based on the pitch type refers to a skill of the pitcher in that particular pitch? So for example a pitcher having fastball and change up will throw both, with some given frequency, and when throwing fastballs his velocity will impact the result while his CoS will impact when he throws the changeup? Also, on a slightly different note, if this is the case, does velocity affect non fastball pitches? Or say movement affect a cutter to some extent, even if for the cutter the main skill would still be the fastball? |
