Do all players retire when they are 35?

Thanks

i know they don't retire at 35 if they're on your team... i've got a 36 year old backup shortstop.

No players don't retire at a fixed age. Their skills just erode and people eventually cut them when they are no longer effective players. And then after a certain age, they wouldn't show up as free agents anymore.

so players don't show up in free agency after age 35 even if they have a high salary & decent skills? i cut my 36 year old SS recently (Salary: $2.90M), who was very good last season & i notice he's unlisted / un-signable now. he might be effective for another season or 2 if given playing time.

of course, i realize very few if any are going to want to sign a 36 year old given the 1 player/week limit (among other things).
