One of my players, Stanley Kohn dropped in potential during this years update. While this is disappointing, their minor leagu stats lead me to believe they will be a huge asset regardless.

1.331 WHIP, 3.49 ERA, 3.67 FIP, 8 home runs in 160 innings
.220 VLHB

However the drop in pot means that the AI is now recommending that they be brought to the Majors when they have only spent one full season in AAA. should I do what I normally do, and leave them in AAA for two years, or should I consider that the AI was bringing them up slower because of the expectation of higher potential?

I had the worst pitching against LHB last season, so I could really use a quality LHP this season, and 73si seems much closer to max potential than my pitchers usually are when they are brought up.

This is one of those 'grey area' situations. You generally accept the game's promotions suggestions, with AAA to Majors being the occasional exception.

Your guy is young, and I would tend to agree that I like 2 years at AAA, however, he did have a fine AAA season last year. You could bring him up and try him out at LHS for a bit, and keep him at one batter, and then try extending his pitch count to 15ish and see how he does. If he gets smoked, you could always put him back down.

Thanks for the advice! I think. I'll bring him up and see how things go.

With a control rating of 6 and potential of 11 he would sit on razor's edge for me. I think I'd rather cut him.

He was nice vs LHB last year, true, but he won't get enough ABs to develop, if you play him as a LH specialist. He's just 22, so if you do not want to cut him because of his poor control rating, get him another season in AAA where he seems to start games or get him 50-60 innings as a long or middle reliever, if you really see a chance for him to develop.
