todd Joined: 01/30/2020 Posts: 144 Wellington Phoenix II.2	So just to be sure, the players the computer subs in for pinch hitting against LHP or RHP is picked by the computer and I really can't control who it picks? The penciled in backups are only for injury and have nothing to do with pinch hitting? Is that correct?

tamale Joined: 02/19/2018 Posts: 357 Concord Jets Legends	Yes, that is correct - which is why you have to consider who the computer might put in when deciding whether to check that box. Guys who have position experience but aren't suitable (e.g. "SS" with no range) often get the call. Also can go the other way, guys with good ratings but no position experience - I even remember a game of mine where the AI brought in a left-handed fielder with 0.0 experience to play SS simply because he had good fielding ratings... he ended up scoring the tying run and even turned a DP! edit: I now note he was a pinch runner - but the AI still felt confident enough in his fielding to take out the SS and leave him there in the tied game.
