Until recently, I had never seen a Power rating above 18. One of my player's Power just went to 19... are there any players with 20 Power? Or 19 or 20 Hitting for that matter? Are they common or rare? Thanks.

Yes. There are players with 20 Power, Hitting, etc. Easiest way to check is to do a Free Agent search and include players under contract. There are currently 11 active players with 20 power.

Scratch that, I had an under 26 filter on.

There are currently 44 active players with 20 power. Including two free agents.

What's up with those FAs? I see a whole ton (with decent ratings) who are un-signable (mostly in their 30s).

- did folk cut them for $?
- will there be a period in the offseason where we can sign them?
- how does all of that work?

After Sept 1st (in game time), you can't sign players. After the season flip, all of those players will be put on waivers and you can make claims on them.

Just having 20 power doesn't make someone a good player. They need to have complimentary skills. For instance a guy with 5 Hitting and 20 Power won't make use of that power since he never actually makes contact with the ball.

KusherKev is, of course, correct. As an example, I present Jeremy Judge:

Whereas here is another example of someone with ++ Power and awful PD, but his hit tool is at least workable:

McManus is taking that power and converting it to 30 HRs a season, whereas Judge can barely hit 15
