At what age will a player no longer be able to gain any skill points from training in the minors?

it is variable, depends on the single player.
We've seen 29 yo with a salary of .20 gaining skills in the minors

Are we sure? Am I wrong that players 27 and older never get picked for minor league games? Doesn't this imply they're pretty much finished in the minors and it's "make or break" time?

they are 2 different things
Minor league games are not providing training

One more caveat: many things changed in prospect development as of lately.
As for the earlier generations, I've seen gains into 29yo season for certain.
If anything changed, we have not seen it yet

In my experience they still gain Training at 26. At 27 there seems to be a big drop off. They may still gain a couple points, but its hard to tell if its actual Training, or just player evaluation Sharpening.

I personally don't expect anything from a 27 year old in the minors.
