If your SETs are poor, you are more likely to loose close games, and thus you'll have a worse record than your RD indicates. Your 1-run record was pretty poor (17-28). Some bad luck, but not helped by the SETs. To me, this is how I rank the importance of my pitchers: #1 - Closer #2 - Setup Men #3 - Starters / Middle Reliefs #4 - Left Handed Specialist (with <> setting) #5 - Long Reliefs #6 - Spot Starter The LHS is only ranked so low because he pitches very few innings. Main purpose is just to try and get players substituted. On the other hand, my closer pitches in twice as many games as Starters. One of my SETs pitched 90 games this year. Closer and SETs are very high impact players, and can positively effect your 1-run and XTRA inning games. |
