Just noticed that the schedule for spring training follows this pattern: one day a single game, the next a double header (2 games with same date)--this pattern runs all the way through spring training. Why is that? Also, does it effect fatigue of starters?

(I set my pitch limits low on all pitchers, hoping to give every one some time, also want all my under 29 year old position players & pitchers to play, so after inning five the subs start to come in--don't know if I am hurting some players' growth, but I also hope I avoid/minimize fatigue related injury)

re: Game Length--why do spring games go extra innings? In real life spring games end in ties if score equal after 9 innings.

It would be nice if spring games ended after 9 innings no matter what. Ties are fine. I think I had one go 18 innings last year. It roughs up a bullpen. Maybe someone should add this to the "Suggestions" forum? I'd +1 it.

More innings = more experience = more better :)

I believe the six games in four days is probably designed to make my above equation accurate. It allows lots of experience in a short time. Spring training is boring. The schedule gets us through it quickly while still providing a ton of innings. I like it.
