Is it worth spending 3.40M on this pitcher?

If I'm making the decision, not really. You also have to take into account the player will lose a point of more of SI with the season flip.

One of the perks of the way the financial system is set up is that, based on when you sign the player, you get to test drive them for free (don't have to pay them until Friday).

So there is really no harm signing a guy like this on a Saturday, and giving him some games to see how he does. Can always cut him before pay day.

Figuring out I could "test drive" players was a big step for my team. I use it most frequently to find relievers worth holding on to. They get a few games to show their stuff on average before I get to decide whether to pay them or go dumpster diving once more

So if I sign a player on a Saturday morning and cut him on a Thursday night, I won't pay anything?
