Gonzalez might develop into a specialist or late reliever. I think the others are investing a lot of time in guys that might only pan out into replaceable players. Whether you decide to keep/cut/play the older guys just depends on team finances and how competitive you want to be vs develop the next round of talent in the 24-26 age group. I like to cycle a lot of pitchers in a game (I don't have a lot of studs yet), so my starters are in the 75-100 pitch count range and I set a hook of 5-6. I set the first inning to go LR at like 4 (don't know if that matters), MRs at 5, setups at 7, and closer either 8 or 9 depending on how good they are. after starters most of my hooks are 3 or less. Rarely does it play out that complex in any one game but i'm usually happy with how the pitchers cycle through. then I just analyze how each one is doing in the stats section over time and give too much thought to what needs to happen from there |
