Can anyone shed some light on this pick. Scouts have him as best ranked minor league prospect in my system, yet he is 0 in hitting and weak on offense where scouts claimed that he could be a prolific hitter and slugger.

Is this normal or abnormal?

Thanks y'all!

P.S. I am at boron and gutted some old players to give some AAA players a shot this season as team losses every year have been awful. What happens when a franchise's budget goes in to the red?

Maybe above average, even great for VI teams. You can check this thread for other's case, though cases would more than average because people wants to announce their success, but not for their fail.

He is definitely 1B build. You don't need to see his now-ability, more important is how much he developed per season. Though he doesn't have hitting report, He will be great offense add if his HIT goes higher than 9-10. BCT and PD is also important as much as HIT.

His SI prediction based on POT/scouting report is 10-20-20-18, and I think his HIT would reach max value of scouting report(13) or more because development has tendency to balance each skills. (not always, but commonly)

Congratulations to your successful first-round pick!

P.S similar case with fully-developed. #1 #2 #3 #4

If you want to know how I estimate it, check this thread.

On Financial problem, Game Manual will help you.

- Bankruptcy

Both user owned and computer controlled teams are subject to bankruptcy restrictions. If a team is below the bankruptcy limit (-$10M) for 3 successive weeks (3 economic updates), then the team will enter bankruptcy. If this is a user owned team, the user will be removed as owner and the team will be managed by the computer thereafter. For the next 5 weeks (updates), the team will sell off its highest paid players in an effort to reduce costs. Additionally, the bankrupt team will have its ballpark capacity reduced and its prestige penalized. Finally, after completing this process, the team will have its debt absolved and will be allowed to continue to compete as a regular team thereafter.

Users of bankrupt teams will be allowed to request other teams when they are removed from clubs entering bankruptcy. Since the club entering bankruptcy will be computer control for 5 weeks, it will be unavailable for that time period.

One thing about the prospect ranking - it's really not a measure of how great a player is going to be, it's how good he is doing development wise relative to a baseline.

At age 25, all players are recommended for promotion to the majors. Assume that to be promoted, you have to have a certain SI level - usually it's somewhere in the 80-95 range which represents how your skills have developed.

What 'top rated prospect' really sort of means is how likely they'll be ready for the majors at age 25, not that they're going to be the next Hank Aaron. Typically, prospects with good skills and fast training are indicative of being really good players eventually but not always.

As an 18 year old prospect, he looks fine but he's at least 4-5 seasons away. Even if he added 1-2 points to each of his primary stats (training at ~10 points / year, which is quite good), he's going to be like 10 / 10 / 10 / 10 in 5 seasons. At this point, he's money in the bank and 'well ahead of schedule for getting to the majors by age 25' - in other words, a top prospect.

He looks good. Follow the computer's advice minor league wise and see how he develops. There are the occasional dud who just train like crap and only pickup up 4-5 points per year. If he's one of those, then it's just bad luck and move on.
