I just drafted a prospect with "Solid in the field" for OF but it turns out he has 5 range with 15 arm. I have no intention of putting anyone with a range less than 10 in the outfield ever and I was wondering if 3B would be an option for such a player?

My first thought would be catcher? Range doesn't seem to have any noticeable effect there. The arm would be good, the fielding mostly wasted (a few less PBs).

It depends on who you already have penciled in for those positions, but my preference would be third. A 15 arm is not enough to be regularly behind the plate for me unless he makes up for it with a mighty bat. I'd train him at third and see how it goes. Also, the out of position penalty for catcher seems to be significantly less painful than it is at the hot corner, so you could move him if necessary at the major league level.

A little more range at 3B would be nice, but 3B looks like his best position to me. He may not be optimal for 3B, but 3B is optimal for him.
