I am not quite sure I understand what you mean by this. Which addresser and which number? What do you mean by decrementing the number by one, the guy's ID number? His ID was 2679 so you mean 2678? This is a bit confusing to me, sorry.

You have an address bar, yes? For typing in web addresses, like www.google.com, yes?

If you follow the link again to the manager I listed:-

http://brokenbat.org/manager/2679

You'll find he is still available. As Rock says, go to that link in your address bar, and change the number at the end to 2678. That will take you to the manager previous, and so on from there.

The point of this is to find the "new" managers, not the ones found in the New Manager search function. You'll find better ones this way.

Is that clearer?

yes, actually I did find him that way. However, what if you don't have a specific manager in mind, how do you find one without using the search new manager page?

That is where decrementing the number in the address by one comes in.

Put in http://brokenbat.org/manager/2678
and then http://brokenbat.org/manager/2677
and then http://brokenbat.org/manager/2676

and so forth. Or you can just use the search function and just look for guys with decent reports. You just have to sort through more junk that way.

no dice on buying this guy directly from the link you posted. I just tried it. Still shows me with the same manager I had before. Not complaining just giving a report. Anyway, thanks for the help.

That's because #2678 is already taken. #2679 is not - you can only hire the ones that are free.

Let me try to explain this a different way. Most things in Broken Bat web addresses end with a number. All the managers are listed from the first one created through the last one created as brokenbat.org/manager/1
...
brokenbat.org/manager/2679

What they are suggesting is work backwards through the numbers from the last one created (2679) until you find one you like that hasn't been taken yet.

ok, so let me ask this; once i log into my own team page, I then go to addresser, type in the website given for manager search and then keep retyping in that address decrementing the number by one each time until I find a manager that suits my needs, correct? Then, when I'm asked to hire this manager, if untaken, he immediately goes to my team?

That is the most efficient way to do it. But if it is easier for you, there is nothing wrong with using the normal search and hunting through the managers that come back. Just make sure to grab one with some reports about how good he is.

And yes the manager is immediately replaced at no cost. So if you find a better one later you can hire that guy instead. No extra cost.
