http://brokenbat.org/player/74342 I picked up this guy to fill a gap in 2nd while my star 2nd Baseman transitions to Catcher, he is 34 years old but his skills say he can still perform at a good level, but he was a free agent all last year, which makes me wonder why, as there must be a very good reason that no VI V teams wanted a 2B veteran who could still perform at those levels (especially with the lack of talent I'm seeing at 2B, One search brought up two really good talents who were 28 but they were 5M ~8M Salary)

I think most managers don't pick up players over 33 unless they desperately need to fill a hole, they prefer to play some young prospects. So if you have absolutely no other hope for 2B - he's a good pickup. Don't expect more than one season out of this guy though.

Strangely he didn't lose any SI last year despite not playing all season. He lost some this year. You never know how a guy will perform after declining a bit, but he looks like a decent rental option.
