Shyfire Joined: 06/23/2015 Posts: 135 Inactive | So I have a couple of aging vets who aren't really producing and a young tongue who just got called up. http://brokenbat.org/player/99935 http://brokenbat.org/player/81969 http://brokenbat.org/player/78581 Cervantes and Velasco haven't produced like I hoped they would and Morris just got the call and has the bat that these guys lack. I want to get Morris all the ABs that he can get to further which is why I'm going to plug him in at catcher. That leaves me with who to cut. Cervantes has taken more ABs than Velasco and has hit just a touch bit better, but has done well vs the lefty so far. Velasco has had a lot less playing time but hasn't really hit at all and has 5 passed balls. There is also the factor of salary. Cervantes salary is over double that of Velesco and is only going to go up, and i'm not to sure I want to pay that to a back-up. Right now i'm learning towards cutting Velasco and keeping Cervantes. Cervantes can probably provide me a acceptable bat off the bench and some fielding when I need it. IDK tho. I'm looking for a second opinion, who should be cut? Thanks! |

I personally don't like power hitters who can't make contact, so given the choice I would drop Velasco. You really should just keep playing Morris in the OF so he can train in his position. I don't see anyone in your OF that is so critical to the future of your team that they couldn't sit the bench a bit to give Morris playing time. I'd cut one of the old geezers and let Morris platoon against lefties. Maybe even platoon for Gillespie against righties as Gillespie seems to struggle against righties despite his handedness. Bauer will be ready to come up soon, and even if he is only "c" he should do a better job as your catcher. |
