Cheers, great! The "Reset to Defaults" runs the optimizer.

One can then always return to "game default" :-)

Again, tooltip would be great and spare queries.

Two days ago, I wrote down the players that popped in training. Today, which is Thursday, the players names are different. Or am I just losing my mind?

It seems that training doesn't always only take place on Sunday. Again, am I just going crazy and seeing something wrong?

Also, how fast do the same player's pop in skill level? Is it possible that the same player will pop every week, while others only pop a time or two each season?

I was under the impression that players in your minors were training, but most of my pops have been to Majors. Do players get faster training in the Minors or Majors, or does it matter? What effects training?

Thanks for any info.

Training is on Friday at 2:00 am Pacific Time. That’s 5:00 am Eastern and later in the day in Europe and Asia. You can check out the upcoming schedule and events at http://brokenbat.org/events

Players get more training in the minor leagues and more experience playing in the majors. Skill increases (“pops”) can result from either of these. There is a maximum amount of training and experience that a player can accumulate. Younger players have not maxed out their training potential and skills are too low to warrant playing time in the major leagues. They can benefit by spending time in the minors. Older players have maxed out their training potential and will only get better with playing time in the major leagues.

Additionally, players acquire experience by playing a particular position. If you play third base long enough, you’ll get a 3B in your position list. Note that all outfield positions are grouped into a single position for experience purposes.

That’s pretty much what effects skill increases with some influence by training focus.

So to your other question about some players popping more than others. Each player has a different skill potential. Those will high potentials may gain skill increases faster. Those players that have reached their skill maximums will not have any more skill increases.

Additionally, players need to be at the right minor league level to maximize training. Also, players that play more in the major leagues will receive more experience. This can result in more or fewer skill increases.

More info needed on training, please.......

Through international signings and high school draftees, I have some players with skills across the board that are very low. They are nothing more than 3 or 4 in anything except for arm and range, which is high on all players. My question is, will these low players ever train up to all stars? And if so, how many years will they have to train to reach all-star levels.

Is there any clue how many skill increases a player can get in a season?

Use the scouting reports to determine if a player is viable. Younger players can have very low skill levels, but grow considerably. There is no rule on how many skill increases you can get per season – it really depends on his current skill level and his potential and if he’s at the correct minor league level (use the roster assignment page to adjust this).

Please note, players have limited potential. Not every player can become an all-star and not every player can be trained to the highest level in a particular skill.

A player can easily progress through one minor league level per season. So he can be ready for the majors in one to four seasons. After he’s ready for the majors, it will take some experience at that level before he reaches his maximum potential. You can accelerate this process by playing him in spring training games, giving him experience and getting an idea if he’s a decent player.

It may be faster to build up you team with a few free agent signings…but more expensive.

Do players gain experience for cup games the same as regular season or spring training?

Yes, all games count for experience.

Just a note, minor leaguers can only play in Spring Training games – so that’s really their only option to gain experience before being promoted.

Hey Steve, quick question: I don't see an option for training players in running. Does that come under Defense?

Actually, there are some skills like speed and arm that don't change much (in the positive) so there really isn't a specific training for them. Some things you either got or you don't got. Other skills you can learn.
