As the title explain, I'm thinking about moving Jennings from LF to 1B for a number of reasons:

1)1B is probably my weakest position (currently i have a platoon of Cattaneo and Valenzuela, one is a decent 30yo but not outstanding, the other is a failed prospect who will never reach his potential)

2)Moving him could clear a spot in OF, giving AB to some young guys to develop like Dailey and Gill

3)In 2025 i should move him anyway, because i have a big OF prospect in the minors who is 24 years old.

So, what would you do? Should i move him or he's too old to move to 1B? He's by far my best hitter and i want to give him every Ab i can in the next 2 -maybe 3-years

If he is your best option at 1B, I go with that. I think 30 is too old to train at a position but if you don't have anyone in the pipeline and a better DH... you gotta do what you gotta do.

I wouldn't be afraid of moving older players, they will do their job. In 2023 I had a 32 year old learning 2B, and he even gained small 2b after this season.

B/c its 1B and he has decent fielding, it shouldn't be much of an issue. I did the same thing 2 seasons back - played an old guy eith 15 fielding and limited XP at 1B. He had a .980 F% in 100 games.

Ab-so-freaking-lutely do it!

Can't put that glove at DH for at least a few more years ...

Step 1 : 3-4 years at 1B ...
Step 2 : a couple more at DH
Step 3 : retire his number

He'll be fine at 1B. Reference his 2018 year.

Wait... no... Roanoke Orioles... I recommend you send him down to the minors for a year to train up at 1B :p
