You watch them perform spectacularly for other teams once you give up on them. RL example: The early 80s Red Sox with Tudor, Hurst and Ojeda Hopefully not the same path in BB ... Against left handed pitching, you would see a right handed line-up of batters. This is in part because a pitcher of the same handedness as the batter would be delivering the ball from almost outside of the batters natural field of vision, making it harder to recognize the pitch and thus, what kind of movement it has that will affect where it crosses the plate. A batter has about a tenth of a second to decide to swing or not AND where to position the bat. Delaying this action favors the pitcher. A pitcher of the opposite handedness of the batter would release the ball within a batters field of vision, making it easier to pick up the pitch. Place you chin on your left shoulder. This is how a right handed batter would look out to the pitcher. If a right handed person was throwing a ball to you, you would have to look hard left to see a pitcher's right hand. If a left handed person was throwing a ball at you, you would look slightly right, or straight ahead. This is why there is an advantage to using righties vs. lefties and not righties vs. righties or lefties vs. lefties. |

Because of the abundance of right-handed throwers, even a right-handed hitter should get used to hitting against them and is generally expected to still hit well. The advantage is much heavier for left v left since left-handed hitters don't see left-handed pitchers as often as right-handed hitters see right-handed pitchers | ||

(I was going to make a post about LHP being more valuable next season with the manager changes, but you really do have some nice arms). |

Really there isn't much you can change in your stadium other than the walls...? Dome and Turf type have nothing to do with handedness. And the foul territory affects both sides equally. The wall height and distance is the only thing you can modify relative to handedness. But if you combine a bunch of LH power hitters with a bunch of LH pitchers, you can make a very skewed stadium that is in favor of LHs. I suppose if you make a big LF wall that is far out, you might want to make the foul territory smaller to give your LHs more chance to hit home runs with the assumption that the RHs are going to hit more fly ball outs into the OF anyhow.
