Broken Bat Baseball
Couple of questions

1. What is the deadline for lineup changes prior to games?
2. Are there any third party apps to help me set my lineup?
3. Is there a limit to the number of players I can sign in one week?
4. Is there anyone willing to mentor me a little bit so I can get some enjoyment out of this game?

Thanks

1. Anytime before the game simulates.
2. Not currently that I'm aware of. There are general baseball lineup optimizer which you plug in you're players AVE, OBP, SLG etc and it spits out the best order. For example: Baseball Musings Lineup Analysis
3. You can draft one new prospect per week. You can sign unlimited numbers of players (free agents/off waivers) up to the September acquisition deadline.
4. The community is pretty good about answering questions in the forum. Not sure if there are specific mentors out there.

Steve, that link you gave is awesome. What is OBA though? I'm having some trouble finding how to calculate that number.

OBA = OBP

Just another way of naming it (On Base Average or On Base Percentage)

Well that makes sense I guess. I've never heard it being referred to OBA.

Here's an alternative lineup tool: http://lineupsimulator.com/

It uses more stats for its prediction and some people like it better. Not sure which will give you a more accurate prediction though.
