I remember reading that if you have consecutive seasons where you generate negative profit, that you lose your team and it becomes controlled by a computer. However, I can't find this information anywhere anymore. So is this "punishment" not around anymore?

I assume you're talking about bankruptcy. You would lose control of your team if your balance is less than -$20 million for three consecutive weeks. Losing money over a season, or even multiple ones, will not invoke a penalty. Of course you don't want to keep losing money, but as long as you stay above -$20 million, the team will still be yours.

You can read more in the Finance section of the rules.

Yeah, I saw that part in the manual. For some reason, I remember reading about the consecutive season thing a while back. I don't remember if it was in the manual or in the forum, but when I went searching for it, I could not find it. I just wanted to confirm that this is not a penalty in the game.
