billy123 Joined: 08/03/2012 Posts: 72 Inactive | Hey, my baseball knowledge isn't amazing, but I'd still keep him at 2/3, does he have a good OBP? If anything id keep him where he is or move up the order not down. Somebody with a better baseball education might well prove me wrong but that's what id do | ||

Analysis suggests that you should put your highest OBP guy 1st, your best two overall hitters with power 2nd and 4th, the next best hitter after that 5th, then 3rd, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th. The reason that the #3 hitter is not as important as the #1, 2, 4, or 5 hitters is because the #3 hitter comes to the plate with 2 outs and no one on base more often than anyone else. The chances of scoring in this situation are very low no matter who is batting. Looking forward to checking out those links too, thanks! I follow baseball a bit but maybe not enough for this game so I need to get better. Updated Sunday, January 5 2014 @ 6:30:06 pm PST |
