I do not often choose from the specific positions pools, but this time I was so desperate for a young pitcher... I think I'll never again try to get one through the pitcher's pool. Best potential 11 and that one with only good overall outlook. I feel like I've just wasted my 1st round pick.

Was a painful experience in the best way, I had to turn down 2 15's & a 14 POT to grab this guy. https://brokenbat.org/player/351072

I went pitcher because my ace is 32 and have mostly been filling the rest of my staff with capable low potential pitchers. Thinking the only way to find another ace is through the draft, so I gave it a shot. Draft board had three POT 13 pitchers with very good overall. I picked the 16 year old lefty, because lefties are tough to find in the free agent market.

I went with the Shortstop board today and it was a solid board for the most part. Some respectable scouting reports.
Three 14POT, three 13POT, one 12POT, two 10POT, and one 8POT.

No one had very good overall potential, which was a little disappointing, but is a minor complaint. There are still plenty of rounds to pick up someone like that. There were only two choices with good+ hitting, above average+ slugging, and good+ potential. One was 13POT Roman Natale, the other is the guy I picked.

I took 14POT Ariel Borrego, one of the hottest prospects this year coming from Venezuela.

Good arm, good bat as well, he has speed upside. Only issue with Borrego, and the entire board the Defenders had today, is he has an awkward build for SS. It does not matter too much since I have plenty of middle infielders. I will most likely train him for 3B but we shall see.

Overall, it was good for first round standards. Hoping for more quality guys next week.

Norman Aces draft their future 17 POT middle infielder.

@Ced, Mizzou must have been a contender for the College World Series - because we landed fellow Tiger Reece!

Had three very good pots to choose from, best board I've had in forever.

The only viable pick on my board was a POT 12 "Above Average Potential". I did pick him, but I doubt he lasts the season. Maybe not even 2 days...

That Missouri Tigers baseball program must have a roster full of pro ballplayers knee high by the Fourth of July.

Yep, already cut him... Should have just skipped the 1st round entirely.
