No totality here, so none of the awe and wonder, just the weird :)

Had to travel 7 hours. Including some very congested areas, (shudders)

Thx,
It's clear, a few clouds but not anything in the way.

Sun's half way hidden, something took bite out of it? or something? Very moony to say the least.

Yeah, we had our peak at 2:23. It looked like a crescent moon for sure. I used a cereal box viewer I made this morning, so not as high quality an image as looking directly at it, but you could still see it clearly enough.

Dang, you couldn't even tell the difference at only 49%. Dissapointed. Oh well, at least I'm conveniently in the perfect spot for the next one.

*Digs out bucket list.* Mow lawn during solar eclipse: Check.

We only got to 99.7% here, but even with that much coverage there was still a considerable difference in the amount of daylight we got compared to what you’d get during totality. It felt sort of like mid-to-late evening, but the best comparison I can make to the way the light looked is that it sort of looked like what you would see through a pair of cheap sunglasses. (And no, I did not succumb to the urge to peek at the eclipse. I like having functional retinas, thankyouverymuch.)

I got about 63% totality here in Phoenix and it peaked at about 10:34 AM. It was an amazing sight to see.

I was so strange just getting dark in the middle of the day.
