| couldn't find a post about this on a forum search - has there been an auto-retire functionality debated? Would address guys who have been sitting in FA pool for a specified period of time (e.g., you sit there for 4 years, you're auto retired). Looking through my old draft board, there are guys who I released 10 seasons ago who are still around despite never being picked up. |

| Free agents at least retire then their age 35 season is over if they are not picked up prior to Sept 1. Notice that some 40+ year old players are still in the game if actually on a team | ||
