Just thought this might be a nice idea. There are some guys out there that are definitely good enough to be on a team but too expensive. Maybe having their salary drop by like $0.20m every week would be a good idea.

This idea resurfaces every once in a while. I'm all for it.

100% for it. Maybe dropping a % each week rather than 0.2m to make the really expensive guys affordable quicker.

+1. I had this in my Giant Moo Cow Suggestion List. No idea why it couldn't/wouldn't be implemented.

It's almost like a mini-game if you've got your eye on somebody. Do I take him now, or do I wait another week and somebody else might get him first? Fun!

+1. Makes so much sense. Those older players want to play eventually

A % drop makes the most sense.

Maybe 5% per update.
That would drop a 5.0M player to 3.0M in one season (10 updates)

+1, though not sure about 5%. Is that too high?

I think 5% is OK. Its salary negotiations after all. If it takes a guy more than half a year (25% drop) to negotiate his salary, something isn't working right. I also don't think a 5% drop is going to be enough to cause a sudden race to hire. Only a couple people will consider the increment worth while.

One thought would be to have it happen randomly during the week (like manager drops), to help prevent draft-like race conditions.
