AssumedPseudonym Joined: 10/26/2016 Posts: 1130 Deerfield Beach Rats V.7 | There are a lot of things that don’t happen defensively in Broken Bat, including relay throws, line drive double plays, infield flies, less common double plays like either the 3-6-3 or 1-2-3, multiple-base errors, throwing behind the runner, pickoff attempts by either the pitcher or catcher (and that would be an interesting use for the pitcher’s Arm stat, really), defensive shifts, and plenty more. While it would be fun to see some of these coded in — especially since the defensive aspect of the game is a lot less emphasized than hitting or pitching — I can see where it would add a lot more work to the coding side of things to handle everything that can happen in a real baseball game. Steve’s done a pretty good job of handling most of the basics and few extras besides. |
