I missed Meza on the waiver wire. Definitely would have put a claim on him otherwise. He makes a great backup infielder.

I would be worried about his bat to be honest, remember he did all that in D6 and now he's in Legends. Plus he doesn't walk very often, and I hate players that can't get walks (personal preference).

I'd expect at least 650 OPS, which isn't terrible for a great middle infielder. The walks are alarming. In 2031 he almost got twice as many homers as walks, 23-12! I don't think I've ever seen that. Pretty funny.

Almeida has already accomplished that feat for the Dinos. Meza wouldn't be breaking new ground. :)

Dino 2B situation is so bad that Meza is easily an improvement both offensively and defensively. I think I have pretty realistic hopes / expectations for his play.

So not taking walks is the secret to your success. That season has to be an all-time record for HR:BB ratio. 25 to 9??!! Truly amazing.

Hehe. IIRC one of those seasons BB and HBP were neck and neck heading down to the wire. Almeida got a flurry (for him) of walks at the end to maintain cosmic balance.

Despite all that, I felt comfortable batting him cleanup. He was deadly with RISP. An interesting player.

My offseason sure has been crazy this 3rd time around. So far this week I've won http://brokenbat.org/player/107688 (33 claims), http://brokenbat.org/player/107138 (15 claims), http://brokenbat.org/player/109860 (27 claims), and now http://brokenbat.org/player/167889 (31 claims). Hopefully the 3 vet pitchers will make my team that was leading last season even stronger, and the prospect will be a nice piece for the future.

However, I'm not sure if I'd rather have my 15 pot pitcher I drafted the first time around or these guys...

Those are helpful grabs.
I have no idea what your lost pitcher looked like, but having a potential star arm for his entire career is gold. Or in this case, lost gold.

@Mike, check out my former star slugger Aaron Doyle. His 2021 and 2028 seasons he actually had MORE than double the HRs versus walks.

Edit: Actually very close to triple in 2021 and one off of quadruple in 2028.

Saw Tipton as the potential steal of the night last night. Had no offers last time I checked in. (Would have made a claim, but the last thing I need is another 1B). Tipton seemed quite similar to Griffin who was more heavily contested.

Was going to congratulate Haverhill on the savvy Tipton pickup - then noticed Griffin signed there too. :)
