I was thinking that the stats should tell us the games that the player has played in (GP),games started in (GS), and games the player has completed (GC).

Games played exists (G)
Games started exists for pitchers (GS)
Complete games exists for pitchers (CG)

Are you looking for GS and CG for potion players?

I disagree. I think seeing how many games they have started in and completed will help me figure out where they're coming in as a defensive replacement.

We mostly try to match the statistics that real baseball media outlets keep. In the case of position players, it's just G or Games Played.

For pitchers, we keep a few more statistics...Games, Games Started, Complete Games etc.

Dan, if you look down at the fielding stats you can see exactly how many games your players have played at each position. This should provide the information you were looking for.
