Last season I had a backup catcher that rarely played at all. Towards the end of the year my rookie catcher was getting hurt more often so the backup catcher had to start playing a bit. However, he would be out with fatigue injuries from only 2 days of starting. This just doesn't seem realistic. Another example just happened on my team. I signed a SS who is 32 years old and has been a starter his whole career. 2 games in and he is out for 2 days with fatigue. Once again, this just doesn't seem realistic for a career starter to be tired after playing 2 games. I think fatigue injuries should affect 2 types of players: 1) young kids who are starting on a daily basis 2) career backups who are thrown into starting roles. #2 would be realistic if the guy played 4 games minimum as this would take a toll on his body. Starting less than that shouldn't affect someone that much. |
