I was thinking that maybe pickoff attempts could be added, perhaps based off of a pitchers arm stat (which at current doesn't seem to function for anything)? Also, maybe a bonus to left handed pitchers? Not certain what impact it would have on ERA but I don't think it would be much, given the successfulness would likely be quite low. Over the 160 games season this roughly equates to:
Compared to 2013 MLB after 162 games:
League leader Keith Sexton http://brokenbat.org/player/37214 is on schedule to complete 80% of his attempts which at the current rate would amount to 115 odd. This is compared to 2013 MLB leader Jacoby Ellsbury (BOS now NYY) who completed 52. |

Catcher's arm comes in to play more, or translation of guys speed comes down, just don't know. We'll see what Steve has to say but I doubt it's something he can change on the fly. Maybe as Crunchtime says pickoffs are implemented. I'm also having guys getting hosed at third and home when they have no business trying to advance in the given situation. 2 outs trying to go first to third or second to home when the run means nothing?
