Congrats gizmo. Having come out on the short end of our meetings during the season I had no expectations (and no cares, really - consecutive promotions!!) of winning.

And then we lost the first three games. To get back to 2-3 and be one out from tying it in game six was a surprise, but...my closer (41/43 saves, 1.86 ERA) had one of those games he couldn't close, leaves bases loaded with two outs...bring in my MR with his 2.45 ERA and just 45 hits allowed in 82 IP...double, triple, double. 3-1 lead turns into a 3-6 loss.

I guess it happens, I have no complaints. Had a fantastic and most unexpected season, big challenge ahead next season.

It's the All Star break, which means we're halfway through the season and halfway through inter-division play. Time for a V. 11 inter-division update!

The west holds a slight edge in the first half with 92-88 record. San Luis Obispo leads the west with a surprisingly strong inter-division record of 20-10 and Kingman is right behind them with a 17-13 record. Go west division!

Inter-division play is over this season, and congratulations to V.11 East for reversing their fortunes in the second half! They not only erased the slim lead the West had in the first half, but they also climbed to a respectable 186-174 record, good for a .517 winning percentage. I guess the Turtles weren't the only West team to struggle in the second half.

Kingman led the West in over inter-division play with a .600 winning percentage, and Troy led the East with a .583. Nicely done!

Here are the inter-division records of all V.11 teams:
Code:
Wins Losses Pct SLO 34 26 0.567 Santa Cruz 32 28 0.533 Kingman 36 24 0.600 Baldwin 28 32 0.467 Port Huron 23 37 0.383 Salt Lake City 21 39 0.350 174 186 0.483 Wins Losses Pct St. Charles 32 28 0.533 Warwick 31 29 0.517 Elkhart 34 26 0.567 Troy 35 25 0.583 Hagerstown 31 29 0.517 Waukesha 23 37 0.383 186 174 0.517

Congratulations to division champs Troy and Kingman! It was a close race in both divisions, with both locked up in the final series, I believe.

The Turtles had our best season in a level 5 league under my ownership, which was still not a great season. I'm expecting to have some significant retirements this offseason, so I'm a bit anxious to see how well our replacements work out.

Gaytan finally had the big training session I've been hoping for a couple of weeks now, popping hitting, bat control and plate discipline in 2037 session #9. That brings him to 7 SI gained on year. He'll never hit his 15 potential, but if he continue to gain 7-8 SI per season in the minors for the next 3ish years (I'm planning on leaving him in the minors through age 26), then he could end up being a decent player for a few seasons.

Well, it looks like I'm the tallest midget. League V.11 had a tremendously lopsided level of competition this 2038 season. East division had some good teams, but the west certainly did not. However, somebody had to promote from the west this year, and it ended up being San Luis Obispo with our division-leading 82-78 record and +27 run differential (yikes).

This is the first time I've been promoted to level 4, and I wish it was under better circumstances. I'm sure to be relegated again after next season. Oh, well. I'll try to enjoy it while it lasts.
