For the New Orleans Knights it is... 18 year old Single-A Shortstop from the Manassas Rebels Alejandro Florez with a .328/.389/.491 line, 19 2B, 22 HR and 119 RBI http://brokenbat.org/player/165011 Updated Friday, December 8 2017 @ 10:41:21 am PST Updated Friday, December 8 2017 @ 12:42:29 pm PST |

It helped that it's the worst BB day of the year (absolutely nothing happens except for worthless drafting, which I'm not even doing this year). I'll make this guy it for me. He only has 17 homers and 58 RBI. No big deal. That's what I've thought all season. Then I looked closer today. He did that in only 231 at bats. Whoa. That changes things completely. He's a switch-hitter and inexplicably not getting much playing time. Congrats, Three Finger. http://brokenbat.org/player/130348 Updated Friday, December 8 2017 @ 11:06:28 am PST |

I don't have an amazing choice... none of my minor leaguers had a stat line that jumped out as dominating for the season. So, I pick Mason Orr, one of my POT 11 hopefuls. He's 19 and a Great Hitter/Decent Slugger future DH with poor speed and atrocious fielding with poor range and arm (a nice combo for a POT 11... no wasted SI). For the season, he batted .338 with a nearly identical lefty/righty split and an .840 OPS. |

Behrens' development has been agonizingly slow (first season of AAA at 25) but his minor league stats are quite promising (.308/.361/.515 this year with reasonable power for a SS) |

Unfortunately neither is a pitcher this time Mauricio Robledo gets to take home the trophy this year after being the batting runner up last year Drafted in round 7 in 2032, the 18 year old spent the full season in A ball posting a .297/.350/.478 line with 16 outfield assists. Last year's winner, Gonzalo Ventura, split this season between A and AA as a 23 year old. 2032s 5th rounder, he fell aways short of last years 153run / 133rbi, 26 hr / 81 steal season. This season he put up 99/104, 13/72 with a .320/.379/.476 line. We're hoping he dedicates himself his training and starts facing some age-appropriate competition soon. |
