I released this guy to help control finances. Sadly, he was my best all around player save my CF.

Why did his salary go from $2.8 million to $4 million on waivers?

Thanks for the feedback!

Tex

Long term players or player that came through your farm system have a slightly decreased salary over time.

Of course, once you release them. Their salary for anyone else (plus your club to re-sign them) jumps up.

Your team drafted him, so you were getting a home team discount. (You can tell by the small red apple in the upper right hand corner of the player card)

I have also noticed a couple times that there seems to be a discount for players that had been on the team for a long time...such as A ball FA that stay on the team all the way up through the majors.
